Clearing my mind and staying focused

One of my daily practices involves clearing my mind before I begin writing. My favorite is walking around the backyard taking in the fresh air and welcoming the circulation back into my body after sleeping motionless for hours. The ten to fifteen-minute exercise is a great way to rejoin the world after slumber. To warm-up for writing, I jot down my thoughts to get them out of my head. I don’t…
