Silence and The Silencer

The battle to be heard

Imagine wanting to speak so badly but being told to swallow each word.
Self-respect and confidence fall to the floor and run away naked to escape the embarrassment of living in a world of forced silence. But, in their hiding place, self-respect and confidence grow stronger. They learn to string words together like black pearls placed snuggly around graceful necks. They understand that “no” is not the end but an opportunity to create their own “yes” in their own time and way.

Writing then becomes a tool that brings the unspoken to life. That which was hidden is now seen. Closed mouths and hearts are opened, and rays of hope penetrate the darkness. Wholeness restored time after time.

And, when the body begins to fade and turn to dust, precious truths will not go unspoken in a dying soul or be buried six feet below the surface. They will stay here for the unborn to treasure and the living to ponder. Silence and the silencer will not win.
